Dettagli:
If you are looking for an experienced private English tutor to teach the new HSC syllabus (belonging) with a focus on the specific needs of students and motivating them to achieve their potential and perform well in exams, please contact me.
I am a journalist/editor and a former high school English teacher with an excellent track record of helping students achieve outstanding results.
I help HSC students with structuring essays and the mechanics of writing.
I offer one-on-one private tuition to help with coursework, assignments, homework, preparing for exams, and building confidence.
University students needing help with reports and theses would find my lessons useful, as would adults outside the educational system wanting to improve their English communication.
My Commitment:
Making learning fun and less stressful;
Introducing new skills and tools and building upon them;
Adapting teaching style to individual requirements;
Focusing on each student's specific problem areas;
Helping students understand difficult concepts and overcome weaknesses; and
Using examples and analogies to explain difficult concepts.
My Experience:
English %u2013 all levels
Essay writing
Different genres of writing
Grammar and punctuation
Speaking and pronunciation, etc.
My Overall Experience:
Editor in Australia (three years);
Copy editor in the United States (four years); and
Academic researcher and HSC English teacher in India (eight years).
In my full-time job as an editor at Australia%u2019s leading think tank, I edit research papers,
books, and a quarterly magazine.
My Expertise:
Explaining difficult concepts and problems;
Reviewing and solving past HSC exam papers;
Familiarising students with the HSC syllabus;
Building confidence to handle the HSC exam; and
Providing tips and techniques to write essays in exams.
My Study Options:
Available for lessons in my home in Lane Cove or in the City at $40/h in the evenings and on weekends.
The first half hour is free to review recent performance, discuss individual requirements, and set goals.
Although one-hour lessons are available, two-hour sessions are preferable to tackle issues in a comprehensive manner.
References are available from my HSC students.
